Design is a relatively young and modern phenomenon, embedded in a flowing developmental process and formed by political, economic as well as ecologic points of view. „Sehn.Sucht.Theoretische Auseinandersetzung mit Social Design in der Sozialen Arbeit, inklusive Plakatkampagne für das Projekt‚Triptalks‘ Graz“ deals with the question of which values and additional benefits design offers beyond its traditional meaning of increasing everyday consumption. This work will question the professional significance and responsibility of designers. Within the framework of this Master Thesis, what shall be concretely shown, is how worked out design can be efficiently used for campaigns of addiction prevention, how the cooperation between designers and social workers can successfully be accomplished, and what must be taken into consideration, especially in the design of sensitive topics, to visually transfer information. The conducted market and field research serves as an approach towards the design concept of the designed posters for the project “Drug Checking Graz”, which pursue the target of addiction prevention and awareness.
